AU Dance Program Friends and Family Benefit Concert
The American University dance program presents the third annual Friends and Family Benefit Concert. Concert proceeds benefit the Dr. Naima Prevots Guest Artist Fund. Named for the founder and visionary of the dance program at American University, the guest artist fund reflects the Dance Program's commitment to providing rich and varied pre-professional experiences for dance students. Established in 2012, the guest artist fund continues Dr. Prevots legacy of exposing students to emerging and veteran master choreographers and teachers.
This year's concert will feature performances by American University dance students, faculty, and alumni. Alumni performers include Sunhwa Chung, MA '99, and current adjunct professor Sandra Atkinson, MA '05. Fall 2014 Artist in Residence Helanius J. Wilkins will also perform. Members of the AU Dance Company will perform works by Wilkins and guest artist Rachel Erdos.
The 2014 Friends and Family Benefit Concert is made possible through a theatre sponsorship by American Dance Institute.
