Zompire: The Undead Film Festival
October 11th, 6-10 pm October 12th, 1-5 & 6-10 pm Clinton St. Theater, Portland, OR
From the people behind the H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival & CthulhuCon (19 years and running). Zompire is two nights (and an afternoon) of intelligent, funny, and scary new horror short and feature films.
Featuring over 30 new short and feature films straight from the twisted brains of today's brightest and best horror filmmakers. Some highlights from this weekend's festival:
Chimères - the NW big screen premiere of the vampire feature film Fangoria calls "a potential re-definition of the genre." Starring Catriona MacColl (The Beyond), Jasna Kohoutova, and Yannick Rosset.
Chrysalis - NW Premiere of the Orson Welles Award-winning feature that shows us life 25 years after a viral outbreak destroyed civilization and turned most of the population Undead. It's a world with no schools, no internet, and no bullets. How can survivors rebuild with a long-dead infrastructure?
The Stomach - Awarded Best Short Horror film at Fantastic Fest in Austin! Your chance to see this seriously warped film about a very different kind of spirit medium, and the living and dead who use him for revenge.
Stella Buio - A Séance goes wrong. Or does it? Starring Linnea Quigley (Dan O' Bannon's Return of the Living Dead), and featuring a live Q&A with local director Lori Bowen.
Dead Hearts - The newest film from Stephen Martin, the award-winning director of 2012's "Dead Friends," is about a child undertaker, lost love, little red riding hood, and Kung Fu fighting werewolves.
and 30 more short films. Which one will be your favorite?
