This is the fall conference of the Connecticut Social Work Oncology Group. These conferences are held twice a year on pertinent topics for oncology social workers or other health care professionals working with oncology patients. This workshop will teach modern stress reduction and mindfulness protocols, including Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), Emotional Transformation, and Picture Tapping Technique.
Workshop will be presented by Jondi Whitis, BA,Accredited/Certified AAMET EFT Practitioner, Trainer & Trainer of Trainers. She's also been trained in Alpha RePatterning and foundational Brain Gym and Wellness Kinesiology. A former Teaching Artist in the NYC public schools, with a degree in Psychology, Jondi is a board member of the Association for the Advancement of Meridian Therapies' International Training Board.
Upon completion of the workshop, participants will be able to: * Introduce the practical use of EFT as a short, rapid means for providing on-the-spot stress and fear reduction in oncology patients * Develop an understanding of the protocol's foundations and field research performed to date in order to provide a basic introduction onsite, on-demand and within the Oncology caregiver community * Provide a basic working knowledge of, and experience with, a practical self-care technique to address oncology worker exhaustion, burn-out and compassion-fatigue * Provide a conversational capability for the extant field research on EFT currently available and of note
