Word by Word: An Evening with Anne Lamott
On Friday, January 30, 2015 WriterCoach Connection will celebrate its 15th year of one-on-one writer coaching for students in the East Bay with an evening of lively literary entertainment. Renowned author Anne Lamott will join Linda Watanabe McFerrin, author and founder of Left Coast Writers, in a stimulating and entertaining conversation on writing and creativity.
The benefit also includes an hors d'oeuvres, wine and dessert reception and a book signing. Every guest will receive a signed copy of Ms. Lamott's new book, Small Victories.
Anne Lamott writes and speaks about subjects that begin with capital letters: Alcoholism, Motherhood, Jesus. With self-effacing humor -- she is laugh-out-loud funny -- and with profound honesty, Lamott converts her subjects into pure magic.
Anne Lamott is the author of several bestselling nonfiction books, including Bird by Bird: Some Instructions on Writing and Life. She has also written seven novels and three collections of autobiographical essays. Ms. Lamott has been honored with a Guggenheim Fellowship, teaches at writing conferences around the world, and has been inducted into the California Hall of Fame.
