Join the Thriving Resilient Communities Collaboratory in a daylong anti-racism training held by the Catalyst Project.
THE WORKSHOP: "Anti-racism for Collective Liberation": In this interactive day-long intensive training, we'll develop visions for social change, explore how institutional racism functions, and examine how white privilege undermines social justice efforts. We'll develop tools to build powerful multiracial movements for collective liberation. This workshop is geared towards white people; folks of all racial and ethnic identities are welcome to attend.
THE TIMING: Saturday, November 8, 9:30 am - 5:30 pm Coffee and a light breakfast will be served 9-9:30 am. Lunch is included. Please plan to attend for the event's entirety, and if you can, to stay after for refreshments.
THE COST: The trainers' costs average out to $100 per person (the TRCC is covering costs for the coordination, facility, and food). Our ticket cost guidelines are designed to 1) make the training accessible to as many people as possible and 2) make the event self-sustaining enough that we can hold similar events in the future. We encourage everyone to offer what they can!
THE HOSTS: The Thriving Resilient Communities Collaboratory (TRCC) is a community action network project exploring tipping-point strategies for engaging and supporting leaders in the thriving resilient community metamovement in North America. We are a learning community of practice that hosts deep dialogues and gatherings, seeds and incubates collaborative projects, and fosters synergy among leaders. Learn more: www.thrivingresilience.org
This event is co-hosted by Bay Localize (www.baylocalize.org) and Generation Waking Up (www.generationwakingup.org).
THE TRAINERS: The Catalyst Project helps to build powerful multiracial movements that can win collective liberation. In the service of this vision, we organize, train and mentor white people to take collective action to end racism, war and empire, and to support efforts to build power in working-class communities of color.
