Band in Seattle live television taping with Prom Queen and Wishbeard

Come participate in the first night of taping of the television/web program "Band in Seattle" with Prom Queen and Wishbeard - October 1, 2014 Wednesday, sponsored by Naked City Brewing and American Music. Each band will perform a 45 minute concert and participate in an interview program, "Sound Proof" with host Warren Etheredge and blogger Jake Uitti, with the opportunity for you to ask the band questions. Doors open at 6PM at Victory Studios, 2247 15th Avenue West between Queen Anne and Magnolia in Seattle. The show starts at 7PM and ends at approximately 10PM. Admission will include two free beers provided by sponsor Naked City Brewing and soft drinks and snacks.

PROM QUEEN:
Prom Queen's Celene Ramadan has been a fixture in the music, theater and improv scenes in Seattle for several years. She is a filmmaker, composer, actor, performance artist and a celebrity impersonator, but is likely best known as Leeni, also the name of her electro pop project. Prom Queen is a nostalgic, "Mad Men" era-inspired pop persona where Celene brings ingénues to mind like Nico and Nancy Sinatra. The music of Prom Queen is sexy with its lush vocals and moody instrumentation that somehow convincingly straddles the line between being thematically dark but still hopeful and romantic.

WISHBEARD:
Wishbeard is a psychedelic dream pop machine based out of Seattle. Since their inception in 2012, Wishbeard has been wowing audiences with their imminently danceable brand of heartfelt shoegaze. Drawing from a wide variety of influences anywhere from Joy Division to M83, Sleater-Kinney to Electrelane; the 4 piece has hit their stride creating warm sonic soundscapes of lush synth washes and effected guitar, punctuated by a rhythm section aimed at getting bodies in motion. They have been steadily winning fans in the Pacific Northwest, and have shared the stage with acts such as Austra, JD Samson's MEN, Friends and Family, Valleys, and Mary Lambert.
