Victorian Illumination Night Feast
Guests begin the celebration with a mulled wine and cider reception and holiday music. Wagon tours of the plantation grounds and the 1840 Palmyra Plantation House last until dinner. A concert by the Holiday Harmonies Octet, long-time holiday favorite at the famed Elizabeth's on 37th in Savannah. Revelers will usher in the ceremonial boar's head and commence the feast of roast pork and turkey, Sweet Potato Soufflé with crunch topping, creamed celery, roasted Brussels sprouts, fresh breads, and homemade gingerbread with creme anglaise served with coffee or tea. After dinner, the revelers will be given individual candles and be led through an avenue of lighted trees to the river. Then, the candles, representing holiday hopes and dreams, will be set free on the tide to illuminate the night and begin the holiday season. Wagon rides continue after the ceremony, and participants may join in caroling at the lighted creche. Don't miss the gorgeous decorations and gifts at Dunham Farms' holiday shop. All events are included in the ticket price. Stay as long as you like listening to holiday music and enjoying friends or family around the fire in this inspiring setting.
