Quebecois Fiddler Pascal Gemme in Concert with Josie Mendelsohn
Pascal Gemme (fiddle) & Josie Mendelsohn (piano) will be performing pieces from a duo CD that Pascal & Montréal-based pianist Mario Loiselle recorded last spring in France. Be prepared for some other surprises thrown in as well! This project celebrates the music of Québec through rhythmic and harmonic improvisations on the piano and melodic variations on the fiddle, creating a lyrical blend that renews itself at every turn. Filled with spontaneity and joy, you will see why this culture still thrives some 400 years after its arrival on the shores of the New World.
