A documentary film by Hetty Naaijkens-Retel Helmrich. (Netherlands, 2013, 109 minutes). Dutch with English subtitles.
The year was 1942-1949. It tells the stories of Indonesian Dutch children who had to live outside the internment camp run by the invading Japanese troops in the former Dutch East Indies (Indonesia). This film documents their mother's struggle to survive and above all keep their children safe against all odds.
This film has garnered the status of Cristal Film for more than 10,000 tickets sold since its theatrical debut in The Netherlands.
