New American Vocal Arts NAVA Inaugural Concert
NEW AMERICAN VOCAL ARTS
The five artists of NAVA all make their homes in Massachusetts: soprano Nouné Karapetian, mezzo-soprano Olga Bykhovsky, tenor Michael Calmès, baritone Philip Lima, and pianist William Merrill. This musical partnership is the brainchild of William Merrill, who has concertized with eminent singers from Boston to Beijing.
The program features virtuoso arias, ensembles, and songs by composers who wrote brilliantly for the voice including Rossini, Verdi, Catalani, Leoncavallo, Vaughan Williams, Schubert, and Gounod including texts by Shakespeare to celebrate the Bard's 450th birthday.
Tickets at the door are $25 and $20 for seniors and students. Longy School of Music is located at 27 Garden Street in Cambridge, Massachusetts, convenient to the Harvard Square MBTA, local buses, and parking garages.
