Arabic Cooking and Baking Series: Helou for the Holidays, Part II
ABOUT

In this series, participants will be invited on a hands-on culinary journey through the Arab world, discovering the history, culture, and science behind some of the Arab world's most essential dishes and seizing the opportunity to produce them with your own hands. From essential baking and hospitality in the Levant, to traditional Palestinian dishes, from the sweet and savory flavors of Morocco, to festive holiday treats, this class series will provide participants with the tools and skills to make these delicious foods from scratch right at home!

OUR INSTRUCTOR: Reem Assil

Reem is a Palestinian Syrian baker and social justice activist residing in Oakland, CA. After a decade of working as a community and labor organizer, Reem decided to pursue her passion in baking, working in dessert and pastry catering and as an owner and baker at one of the Bay Area's most esteemed cooperative bakeries, Arizmendi Bakery & Pizzeria. Her passion for food, culture and community has led her to Reem's, a bakery concept that celebrates Arab culture and cuisine through the provision of breads and pastries from the Levantine region of the Arab world.
