Iron Crow Theatre 2014 / 2015 Season Pass
We've all been hearing a lot about the gender gap, that distance between women and you name it:  political messages, public policy, health care, equal pay, etc.  Here at Iron Crow we mind the gap.  We mind it a lot.

So, you will meet a lot of powerful women at Iron Crow this year.  We consciously sought out plays that feature strong female characters and place them at the center of the action.  These women fight to take charge of their lives from a dominant structure that marginalizes their humanity and seeks to curtail their agency over their own lives.

"CLASS, RACE, SEXUALITY, GENDER AND ALL OTHER CATEGORIES BY WHICH WE CATEGORIZE AND DISMISS EACH OTHER NEED TO BE EXCAVATED FROM THE INSIDE." - Dorothy Allison

The protagonist of 4.48 Psychosis struggles against the mental health system, and takes control of her destiny in the most primal way possible.  In The Revelation of Bobby Pritchard, Marta risks everything to expose a lie, reclaim her history and family, and re-enter her church community alongside the woman she loves.   The all-female cast of The Well of Horniness takes no prisoners as they skewer the patriarchal film noir detective genre into inspired and irreverent lesbian lunacy.

At the same time, these plays offer a range of styles and experiences:  from the searing, disjointed poetry of Sarah Kane, to the restrained gothic lyricism of Rich Espey, and the explosive, irreverent comedy of Holly Hughes.

And, regardless of where you sit on the gender spectrum, we know these plays will speak to you, and these productions will provide you with a rich and satisfying evening in the theatre.

We look forward to seeing you there!
