Café Lucia Fado Night
Café Lucia Presents its 2nd Annual Portuguese Fado Night event as part of "Portuguese Wine Country Weekend" which includes Portuguese folk dancing at Raymond Burr Winery. Fado (meaning "Fate" in Portuguese) is the national song style of Portugal and is loosely described as Portuguese blues or Portuguese soul music.
If you have traveled to Portugal or dined at Café Lucia or LaSalette Restaurant, you have heard Fado music. Fado Nights are very popular in the larger cities in Portugal and in Portuguese communities in the United States.
The evening's performance includes Angela Brito, David Silveira Garcia, and Sete Colinhas, as well as pre-show entertainment by the Healdsburg High School Jazz Band.
All proceeds from this event will benefit music programs in schools through Healdsburg Education Foundation (HEF).
