Stone Songs
A dance experiment in listening to the landscape.
September 27th @ 10:30am & 2pm Laurel Park, Northampton
(The 2pm performance is sold out. Reserve tickets below for the 10:30am performance or email terreunite@gmail.com to be placed on the waiting list for the 2pm performance.)
Join us to celebrate the culmination of Laurel Park Arts' first annual artist residency with Terre Unité Vandale and her Movement Arts Ensemble (Mae). Stone Songs takes the audience on a journey through the landscape of Laurel Park to meet its oldest inhabitants - the stones, boulders, and rock grottos peppering Laurel Park's grounds and the adjacent 9-Acre Woods Conservation Area. Through experimental dance, theater, and voice, Stone Songs asks, "What messages are humming inside the stones' still presence?"
Bring along your walking shoes* and your imagination for this performance experiment in listening to the landscape. Witness as the unreal becomes real, and performers' bodies become the stones' voices. From the creator of The Honey Land (2010) and A Score of Dreams (2013), Stone Songs is a unique performance event not to be missed!
*The audience will be guided along paved roads and forest trails to performance seating. Every effort will be made to accommodate audience members with differences of ability. Please contact Terre at 413-570-0544 in advance to arrange accommodation.
** Seating is limited and reservations are required. ** Tickets: Adults $10-$25 Sliding Scale; Children ages 5+ $5-$10 Free for Laurel Park residents (Call to reserve) More information: 413-570-0544 terreunite@gmail.com www.terreparkerdance.net
