The H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival & CthulhuCon® - Los Angeles 2014

September 26-28, 2014

The H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival® promotes the works of famed American science fiction and horror author H.P. Lovecraft through motion pictures by both professionals and amateurs, current and classic, national and international. The festival was founded in 1995 by Andrew Migliore in Portland, Oregon to promote and encourage film and television adaptations of Lovecraft's great works and other, similar weird tale writers such as Edgar Allan Poe, M.R. James and Robert E. Howard.

This is the fifth year the HPLFF-LA® plays at the classic art deco Warner Grand Theatre in San Pedro, California.

Please note that the information presented here is current as much as we know. We will continue to update it with the latest news.

All attendees of the H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival & CthulhuCon®-Los Angeles are expected to abide by the Event Code of Conduct.

CAN'T ATTEND? CHECK OUT OUR "THERE IN SPIRIT" TICKET
If you can't physically make it to the Warner Grand Theatre, you can still join the festival remotely. SECRET SCREENING
For the first time this year, we will be hosting a Secret Screening of unnamable movies at a hidden, undisclosed "speakeasy" location within walking distance of the Warner Grand Theatre. This will occur betwixt midnight and dawn, of Friday and Saturday, or, more likely, the witching hours of late Saturday and early Sunday.
THIS IS A SEPARATELY TICKETED EVENT WITH LIMITED SEATING!
THIS SCREENING IS NOT WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE!

Only VIP Reel Pass holders will have automatic access to the speakeasy.
Everyone else must purchase this ticket separately.

on the southeast corner of 5th and Palos Verdes St., just north of the Crowne Plaza Hotel.
The entrance is on Palos Verdes.

FEATURE PRESENTATION
Die Farbe (The Colour)
Synopsis: Arkham, 1975: Jonathan Davis' father has disappeared. His tracks lead to Germany, to the Swabian-Franconian Forest where he was stationed after the Second World War. Jonathan sets out to find him and bring him home, but deep in the woods he discovers a dark mystery from the past. Based on H.P. Lovecraft's short novel "The Colour Out of Space".

Director Huan Vu's Statement:
"DIE FARBE" stands in this tradition and is hopefully a film, capable of communicating such a concept with the help of classic storytelling and abdication of excessive sensationalism. Only few succeeded in transferring Lovecraft's vision to the cinematic form - it is our ambition to achieve it and to meet the demands and wishes of Lovecraft fans and sopisticated horror cineasts.
