A moment's inattention. Too many margaritas. And, suddenly, the doctrine of unintended consequences is in full swing for soccer mom April Buckley whose trip to the annual teacher's convention in Chicago descends into a nightmare of sex, lies and blackmail.
If only there were some way to cancel it all out, some way to make it all right again, some way to rewind the clock back to zero. But there isn't. It's too late. What's done is done in The Nightmare, an unsettling three-act drama written and directed by local playwright Don Samson.

The Nightmare, with a cast of eight and a plot line that twists its way through slippery-slope moral questions of right and wrong and legal questions of guilt and innocence, opens September 19 for a 10-date engagement at Willits Community Theatre. Runs through October 5
Samson's one-act plays have been staged in San Francisco, San Rafael, Ukiah, Redway, and, on several occasions, in Willits. Three of his one-acts have been awarded first place by the Bay Area Critics in competition at the Marin Fringe Festival at Dominican College. His full-length musical, The Last Payphone in Willits, was staged at the Willits Community Theatre in 2012.
