Don't miss AURORA on September 27th at Warehouse 21! Acclaimed master of the electric violin, TRACY SILVERMAN, and renowned Storydancer, ZULEIKHA, join forces to kick-off their national concert tour and outreach programs for youth. Prepare to be spellbound as the dynamic duo weaves improvisational music, story, dance and humor in the intimate atmosphere of Warehouse 21's black box theater. The film created at this event will be used to gather sponsorships for the AURORA PROJECT, which will give youth in disadvantaged circumstances around the country an opportunity to participate in creative workshops with Zuleikha and Silverman on the art and joy of improvisation.

Formerly first violinist with the innovative Turtle Island String Quartet, TRACY SILVERMAN was named one of 100 distinguished alumni by The Juilliard School. Shortly after graduating in 1980, Silverman built one of the first-ever 6-string violins and set his own course as a musical pioneer. The world's first concert electric violinist, Silverman has been the subject of two major orchestral commissions: John Adams' "The Dharma at Big Sur," premiered with the LA Philharmonic and recorded with the BBC Symphony on Nonesuch Records with John Adams conducting; and legendary "Father of Minimalism" Terry Riley's "The Palmian Chord Ryddle," which Silverman premiered with the Nashville Symphony at Carnegie Hall in 2012. SILVERMAN is a devoted teacher of youths of all ages and levels, in developing alternative string styles, from classical to jazz to improvisation. He is on the faculty at Belmont University and Vanderbilt University's Blair School of Music. His teaching methods have been published in several magazines, including Strings, Strad Magazine and American String Teacher Journal.

ZULEIKHA is an international performer, educator and social activist whose work inspires dynamic creativity and rejuvenation through the art of movement. Zuleikha uplifts audiences with her humorous, soul-stirring performances and has collaborated with numerous world musicians and poets, including avant-garde composer/pianist Terry Riley, Coleman Barks, poet and interpreter of Rumi, the late African drum master Baba Olatungi, jazz guitarist Bruce Dunlap, cellist David Darling, percussionist Glen Velez, and composer/cellist Eugene Friesen. Founder and executive director of the non-profit organization, The Storydancer Project, ZULEIKHA's programs bring greater health, resilience and joy to women, children and families facing challenging life circumstances. Her Take a Minute Core Wellness Exercises and Body Listening Movement Arts are being used worldwide to help people improve wellness and create empowered responses to chronic stress and trauma. She is the recipient of humanitarian awards honoring her work in the world promoting positive personal and social change.
