Praise for the Poppies: Benefit and Staff Celebration
Praise for the Poppies will honor the female staff of the Poppy and particularly the four key members of the team commemorating their one year anniversary, Sofia Elias, Aleksandra Bril, Maggie Wilson and Melody Wang. This dynamic group of women is composed of artists, musicians, writers, and activists who dedicate time and energy each week to support the Red Poppy's many programs and projects. This special evening event will feature an all-female roster of performers, in celebration of the Red Poppy's unique staff structure. Praise for the Poppies will also include a sponsored giveaway featuring season passes to Red Poppy performances! Come for the talented string of Bay Area female performers, including poets, singers, musicians and mixers, and stay for the chance to mingle, engage, and support the Poppy!
At this difficult economic time for the arts, we could use your love and support more than ever, so why not come out and celebrate with us, dance with us and break bread with us?
The night promises a range of artists including the Bay's own, Amy LaCour a transplant from LA who styles in blues, folk and jazz, jazz singer and composer Ila Cantor, Camille Mai of the chamber jazz group The View From Bernal Hill and many more!
