What The Float - Two Night Floativersary Spectacular

Thursday Aug. 28 and Saturday Aug. 30, What The Float returns to Manhattan! Last month we invested in FiDi FLOAT and were rewarded with high dance dividends. This time we're taking on the no-less-posh TURTLE BAY and we've got brand new music from brand new DJs to lead us on our merry way. To celebrate three years of New York City Floating, we're doing a two-night dance extravanganza - join us either night or both!
IF YOU'VE NEVER FLOATED BEFORE, DON'T WORRY, YOU'RE GONNA BE GREAT!
A "floating dance party" is a private dance club that "floats" from public space to public space. We'll start at a specific location (Pop@Pod - 230 E. 51st St.) and a specific time (10:00pm), but from there we'll explore the night and the city as the music inspires us. We'll all be listening to the same music on our headphones, but to anyone not a part of our party, we will appear completely silent. Mundane spaces will become surreal dance platforms, shy people will become fearless booty-shaking superstars. The power of the FLOAT will swell within you, and you'll give yourselves entirely to the dance in a way you never dreamed possible.
HERE'S WHAT YOU'RE GONNA DO:
1. RSVP here! Pass the event on to EVERYONE you think deserves to be happy, at least for one night. Text your friends. Email them. Pester them face to face. This is the most important thing that will ever happen.
2. Select three 33:00-long playlists. We HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend using our brand new, specially curated mixes, which will be emailed to you 48 hours before the Float begins. You'll be able to download the mixes from Dropbox or Google Drive onto your computer and then sync them onto your mp3 player. Streaming is also available, but we highly recommend downloading in advance!
3. DO NOT LISTEN TO THE MUSIC BEFORE THE DANCE PARTY COMMENCES. IF YOU DO YOU WILL RUIN THE SPONTANEOUS VIRGINAL JOY OF THE FIRST-TIME LISTENING EXPERIENCE.
4. READY YOUR MINDS AND BODIES FOR THE EXPERIENCE. Please ready your minds and bodies responsibly. HYDRATE. Stretch. Dress to move. WEAR COMFORTABLE SHOES. Dress fancy to get dancey. We'll make you glow.
5. The starting location is POP @ POD at 230 E. 51st St. THERE ARE TWO POP BURGER LOCATIONS, please come to the correct one. Meet us there between 8:00pm and 10:00pm on August 28th or 30th. The earlier you show up, the more time there is to make new friends and drink delicious libations! There will be drink specials until 9:30pm. At 10:00pm SHARP, we'll step outside, press play, and dance the world away.

Tickets are $10 before August 23, $15 up until the day of dancing, and finally $20 at the door. There is limited space, so secure your spot soon!
