Edward II
Edward II uses the tumultuous history of 14th century England to tell a more intimate tale of the King's rise and fall. Marlowe asks, when the allure of power is calling, which should guide us most: family, love, or political gain? How does this affect our public appearance and our private desires? He challenges us to consider whether such distinctions are even possible. I think we're up to the task.
Who are we?
Mercury Glass Theatre Company was founded in order to give young up and coming artists, who were interested in created through provoking theatre that highlight socially progressive themes an opportunity forge a new path into the our theatre scene. This isn't just an opportunity for our artists, it's a chance for the audience to experience a fresh take on classic and contemporary works. Our inspired eyes can present a new mirror with which to view the world.
Our fresh outlook is a gift we are trying to give New York and we can't do that without a space in which to create our craft. And so we ask you, friends, to help us acquired that space by giving what you can. New York is an exceedingly expensive place to put up a production. We can't put on our production without your help, any donation is appreciated. Give whatever you can. Help us expand our theatre, become a part of our theatre family and see what our eyes can offer the world.
Edward II performs at Teatro LATEA at the Clemente Soto VĂ©lez Center on the second floor of 107 Suffolk Street.
