Scratch Gravel Road,nominated for the Best Bluegrass Album GRAMMY award in 2012, is the 16th recording released by Special C, with most of the songs given to the band by top Nashville songwriters, including Dixie and Tom T. Hall, Tim Stafford and Jon Weisberger, Brink Brinkman and Tony Rackley, Craig Market, Becky Buller and even Harley Allen and Herb Ford. The recording features founder Greg Cahill, David Thomas, Rick Faris and Dustin Benson. This concert is the kick-off to a year of Traditional American Music in the Boundary County School District. Each of the four concert artist groups will present workshops and dialogues with middle and high school students before playing an evening concert for the public to benefit the educational program. The project is proud to have seed support from the Western States Arts Federation (WESTAF), and the National Endowment for the Arts. Our hope is that you will come out to enjoy the internationally known and loved Special Consensus, while at the same time supporting the musical education of the youth of Boundary County.
