His dexterity, adaptability and ability to channel the distinctive character of the diverse roster of composers and artists that have inspired him throughout his already impressive career allow him to fluidly navigate every genre, from jazz, to orchestral/classical, to contemporary. His playful yet wise style pays homage to his most powerful influences, which include Anton Bruckner, Claude Debussy, Dave Brubeck and even Daft Punk and the French band Air.  Jens has been the Principal Tuba in numerous prestigious orchestras, bands and ensembles, including the Yale Philharmonia, Indiana University Orchestra/ Opera/ Ballet and  David Baker's Jazz Band.
