Oklahoma!
Set in the Oklahoma territory in the early 1900s, this musical tells the story of two smitten couples. Curly is a cowboy who has trouble admitting his feelings to Laurey, as she does to him. Judd, the hired hand at Laurey's farm, tries to come between them. Ado Annie is torn between Will, a cowboy who has strong feelings for her, and Ali Hakim, a peddler and a ladies' man who doesn't want to marry her.
Enjoy this classic musical in a magical setting under the stars at Snow Camp Outdoor Theatre which has been in existence for over 40 years. The theatre is on the banks of Cane Creek just a short country drive West of Chapel Hill or South from Burlington over rolling meadows, past horses, sheep, and cows. Ye Old Country Kitchen restaurant is just across the parking lot from the theatre. There are many historical buildings, artifacts, and displays on the grounds, so be sure to come early and take the free self-guided tour which is available a the box office. This theatre also produces two historical dramas, The Sword Of Peace, about the local Quakers' encounter with Lord Cornwallis during the Revolution, and Pathway To Freedom, about the Quakers' role in the Underground Railroad during the 1800s. In addition to this stories the theatre performs two children's shows each summer.
