ARIEL STRASSER + NICK YOUNG
Ariel Strasser is a singer/songwriter from Minneapolis, Minnesota now based in Boston, Massachusetts. Growing up in a house surrounded by her family's music, it wasn't a surprise when she was accepted to the prestigious Boston Conservatory musical theater program. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts and an emphasis in songwriting, Ariel has had the privilege of collaborating with artists such as singer/songwriter Samuel Crown, drummer Scotty Horey, percussionist Fernando Meza, and guitarist James Berget. Ariel Strasser's debut album "Crooked Line" recently released to 5 star reviews. "Crooked Line" was recorded at The Vault recording studio in Hoboken, NJ with producer Dan McLoughlin of The Push Stars. "Crooked Line" features Nate Tucker on drums and percussion, Max Judelson on upright bass, Adrianne Pope on violin and Chris Trapper, also of The Push Stars, on vocals.
Nick Young's twang infused new album "South Lima" is a stripped-down affair, heavy on acoustic and pedal steel guitars but retaining Young's signature hooks and exquisite knack for melody. The Rochester, NY based artist recorded the album in nearby Buffalo with his long time bass player and friend Tim Mroz and the record was named after the small (very small) town where Young wrote almost all of the songs that appear on the release. Young's sophomore effort comes almost 3 years after his solo debut "Truth Is" and after nearly 50,000 miles of touring in support of that album. Embracing the troubadour within, Young will once again bring his "twang-folk" (or whatever the hell you want to call it) to the masses, armed with an acoustic guitar, his songs and an authentic passion for performing.
