It is sponsored by Friends of Sabeel-North America (FOSNA) and by Students for Justice in Palestine, Madison, WI.
The intention, design, and spirit of the conference is: - to hear the stories and the political and theological perspectives of Christian, Muslim, Jewish, and secular writers and activists concerned with justice and peace in Palestine/Israel - to educate, inspire, and make connections - to galvanize advocacy for justice in Palestine-Israel
Conference participants will expand their understanding of what is happening now in Palestine/Israel and in the US through plenary sessions and workshops with writers and activists on the forefront of today's struggle for justice in the Holy Land.
Distinguished plenary speakers from the US and Israel/Palestine will address the current situation on the ground in Gaza, in the West Bank, and for Palestinians citizens of Israel, and will explore the impact of US foreign policy, the media, and religion on the region's struggle for justice.
Interactive workshops will engage participants about relevant historical realities, offer timely updates regarding facts on the ground, and provide ample time for lively discussions about creative responses. Workshops will also offer opportunities for involvement in specific areas of advocacy such as campus organizing, community education and humanitarian response, and strategies for BDS (Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions) organizing.
Friday evening's events include a Palestinian dinner. Pre-registration before November 3 is required for dinner participation.
