Sleep, Marilyn, and Dream
Inspired by the private life of Marilyn Monroe, "Sleep, Marilyn, and Dream" will make its debut this summer at the historic Bathhouse Theater.

Set fifty four years after her death, Marilyn Monroe awakens in Heaven, where she discovers an afterlife  governed by strict bureaucracy and law. Here, Marilyn meets old friends, makes new ones, and confronts the demons of her past. Anchored by Seattle veteran Erin Ison in the title role, featuring music from award winning Hollywood composer Jason Livesay, and written, directed, and designed by David Kulcsar, "Sleep, Marilyn, and Dream" is an ambitious take on a beloved American icon in a story where life after death has its own tribulations.

The remainder of the cast is rounded out by Emily Fairbrook Shuel, Mindy Beal, Rachel Brow, Caitlyn Hamilton, Robert Fuentes, Allegra Stahl, and David Kulcsar.

Ms. Krystal Lechner of Smashing Divas Beauty Artistry is also part of the project, serving as Mrs. Ison's personal makeup artist to bring Marilyn Monroe to life.

PLEASE NOTE: The show contains mature language and themes. Please be aware of this when buying your tickets.

REVIEWS ARE COMING IN!

From Jacqueline Pruner of Heed the Hedonist:

"Sleep, Marilyn, And Dream at SPT shows a much darker side of Marilyn Monroe than the media-driven fantasy; it also reveals that all is not perfect in Paradise...David Kulcsar himself, who, in addition to writing, directing, and designing this play, also plays a convincing Marlon Brando...this play is a good first-draft for production and one helluva nostalgic walk down ol' Memory Lane...the cast dishes out some pretty decent impersonations, too. It was good to re-visit with some old (iconic) friends." (Full Review here: http://www.heedthehedonist.com/world-premiere-of-sleep-marilyn-and-dream-runs-until-september-14th-2014)

From Jerry Kraft at seattleactor.com:

""Sleep, Marilyn, and Dream" is a very ambitious work and it's obvious that a great deal of thinking and planning has gone into it. The performances are committed and the production values are attractive... What (Kulcsar) has accomplished is a compelling if not fully satisfying drama about a woman who remains as irresistible and enticing in her legend as she was in her life."

From MK Scott at OUTview Online:

"The characterizations were incredible and believable, especially Kulcsar's Brando, Shuel's Hepburn, and Erin Ison's Marilyn. The dialogue was genuine and dead on (pun intended)." (Full Review here: http://www.outviewonline.com/2014/09/outscene-nw-re-view-marilyns-trip-to.html#more)
