CELEBRATING 20 YEARS OF IMPACT WITH SAL KHAN
To mark our 20th anniversary, we're giving a gift to the entire Valley: a public presentation by Sal Khan, the Founder and Executive Director of Khan Academy probably the most heralded education nonprofit in the country at this time.
Here, you can purchase a VIP ticket for $100 per person, which includes reserved, special seats, plus access to a fun, informal party with great food and wine following the presentation.
About the Khan Academy:
The Khan Academy is revolutionizing the way young people learn in our community and around the world. More than 10 million students have watched Khan Academy videos (on topics as diverse as basic algebra, economics and molecular chemistry) in recent years, and the organization's mission statement reflects its broader ambitions: a free, world-class education for anyone, anywhere.
Mr. Khan receives nearly 2,000 speaking requests each year, but has chosen to come to Napa Valley to speak to our students.
About Napa Valley Community Foundation:
Napa Valley Community Foundation helps donors transform their passion for giving into greater impact. Now celebrating 20 years of service to Napa Valley, NVCF has served as a bridge between philanthropic families and hard-working nonprofit agencies since 1994, bringing people, ideas and resources together to enhance the quality of life in our community. From American Canyon to Calistoga, NVCF has distributed $30 million in grants since it was founded, and currently serves as the philanthropic partner to 100 individuals, families, nonprofit agencies and corporations in Napa Valley. According to a survey of several thousand donors conducted by the nonprofit Center for Effective Philanthropy, NVCF is the top-rated community foundation in the US on two-thirds of the key measures related to donor satisfaction and impact. In 2011, NVCF was ranked as the 13th most active grantmaker among more than 750 community foundations across the country, and its innovative programs have served as a model for other foundations across California and the US.
