SFTV Save the Season Canning Class
Join us at The Plaid Apron* on Sunday July 27th at 1pm sharp for a fun afternoon workshop where we'll show you step-by-step how to can tomatoes, everyone's favorite bountiful garden crop that comes in so fast it's hard to use them all while fresh, and easy to long for them in February when making dinner. Canning is a particularly valuable skill in Knoxville where we experience strong storms that can knock the power out for long stretches and endanger your frozen food supplies. Learn how to keep the peak of summer fresh all year long!
We'll start at 1pm sharp so we have enough time to get through the entire canning process and have plenty of time for questions, so we recommend arriving at 12:45pm to settle in for the demo. You'll take home a can of fresh local produce and the confidence and knowledge to can in your own kitchen.
*The Plaid Apron is graciously allowing us to use their space on a Sunday for the class, however the class is taught by Slow Food TN Valley board members for the benefit of Slow Food TN Valley.
