Run Boy Run and Circles of Hope
Come hear Run Boy Run, a five-member band hailed for its soaring harmonies and beautiful acoustic instrumentation. Half of the proceeds from ticket sales will go to benefit the nonprofit Circles of Hope, an initiative that empowers Reno County families in poverty to find paths to self-sufficiency. Snacks and beverages will also be sold at the concert.
The band's Hutchinson stop is part of their second national tour. The concert will include original tunes from their second full-length CD, Something to Someone.
Defying easy labeling, Run Boy Run blends streams of Americana, bluegrass, gospel and jazz music into their unique compositions. Their sound features captivating three-part female harmony and masterful fiddle work. Run Boy Run includes two-time Arizona State Fiddle Champion Matt Rolland, Bekah Sandoval Rolland (fiddle), Grace Rolland (cello), Jen Sandoval (mandolin), and Jesse Allen (bass).
Winner of the prestigious Telluride Bluegrass Festival band contest, Run Boy Run has played to an audience of millions on the Prairie Home Companion show on National Public Radio. Host Garrison Keillor was so taken with this young band that he wrote a glowing endorsement for their first album, So Sang the Whippoorwill: "Hot instruments and beautiful, sweet harmony singing -- that's all you need in the world today!"
