THE ORGANIZATION
The International Society for Children with Cancer (ISCC) was formed in keeping with the 4th goal of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals; to help reduce child mortality by the target date of 2015. ISCC is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) non-governmental, non-political organization that was co-founded by Mrs. Saideh Ghods and Mrs. Fereshteh Tavakoli in Chatsworth, CA in June of 2004.
Over the past several years, through the services ISCC has provided with penultimate grace and kindness, it has received great support in Southern California where the organization is primarily based, however leaving a great opportunity open for the many heartfelt people in our community in the Bay Area to connect with ISCC/MAHAK's mission, vision and needs. With a belief that "no child suffering from cancer should be left untreated," ISCC and MAHAK increase access to treatment for underprivileged children with cancer and support their families during the healing process.
After learning some hard facts about the current 9,000 children with cancer and their families being supported through this organization and the compassionate, humane approach to providing such support, Neda Nobari Foundation was compelled to offer its commitment to raising awareness about ISCC through a dinner fundraiser celebration, and raise the much needed funds for ISCC's continued work around the world.
