For those who seek wisteria and sunshine, this 2003 stage adaptation of the 1922 Elizabeth von Arnim novel is a romantic comedy in two acts, set first in a dreary London flat and then at a beautiful seaside villa in Italy. A tale of loss, hope and renewal, Matthew Barber's play won the 2003 John Gassner Award for Outstanding New American Play, and the Broadway production was a Tony Award nominee for Best Play. The 1992 film version starring Alfred Molina and Miranda Richardson garnered a Golden Globe nomination for Best Motion Picture.
