The Science of Scene Work with Chris Alvarado Class Details When: Sunday, Jul 17, 2016 12:00 PM Price $100.00 "The Science of Scene Work" The study of scene work in three parts.
In this 3 day workshop series we will be studying and performing scenes in 3 parts.
Day one/Part one: Where to begin. It's too often that scenes fall apart because important information is either not said or ignored at the tops of scenes. We will focus on the important details and information that will be the foundation for the rest of the scene. This includes creating strong characters with clear and precise points of view.
Day two/Part two: Using what you've got. Even when the tops of scenes are taken care of, players are often left wondering what to do next. We will focus on reinforcing the characters points of view, defining character "wants," and heightening.
Day three/Part three: Let's go! Successful scenes are successful because of the work put in at the top to establish who the characters are and what the scene is about. But where to go from there? We will focus on the variety of ways we can play with the characters, relationships, wants, etc. by using devices such as tag-outs, "traveling" the character(s), and more.
