Milford Center for the Arts: Alison Cook Beatty Dance Company - Public Performance Series & Master Class
Milford-native Alison Cook Beatty is bringing her NYC-based dance company to
Milford, CT for 3 exciting performances at the Milford Center for the Arts, as well
as conducting a FREE Master Class for dancers as a special dance tribute to Milford's 375th celebration!

The Alison Cook Beatty Dance Company (formally ACB Dance Company) was founded in 2012. The company is a classically based modern dance company exploring the universal human condition through expansive and emotionally driven movement grounded in American modern dance. The healing and transformational power of the arts inspires the company to work with diverse groups within the community, in addition to collaborative efforts with other artists. Under the artistic direction of Alison Cook Beatty, her choreography has been commissioned by companies such as Ballet Next, Columbia Ballet Collaborative, Carolina Ballet Theater, Joffrey Ballet School NYC, Opera Dolche, and NYU. Ms. Beatty has been awarded the 2013 sjDANCEco Award for Artistic Merit & Best Choreography, as well as a grant from the Milford Fine Arts Council and New Haven Fine Arts Council in CT, a grant from the Putney School in VT, the Caroline H. Newhouse Scholarship Award and a matching finds grant from the US government and the organization Assets for Artists. The company has performed throughout New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, California, Vermont, Washington D.C., and continues its rehearsal, performance, and community outreach events for 2014. The company has performed at New York Live Arts, San Jose State University, the Milford Fine Arts Center, the Putney School, the Manlius Pebble Hill School, Ailey Citigroup Theater, Harvard Art First Festival, SUNY Purchase, DUMBO Dance Festival, PMT Series, Triskelion Arts Center, the Secret Theater, MishMash201, the Astoria Dance Festival, Genesis Dance Project, Dixon Place, the Hatch Series, Jazz at Lincoln Center, the Salvatore Capezio Theater at Peridance, GREENSPACE, the Hartt School, the Schermerhorn Theater, the 92nd Street Y and NYU Frederick Loewe Theater, The Morse Black Box Theatre at at St. Johnsbury Academy in VT, The National Cherry Blossom Festival, and The Riverside Theatre.
