The Baroque Trumpet with Casey Reeve
Casey Reeve brings the historic baroque trumpet's charm to Portland in this evening concert of baroque music. Played on period instruments and accompanied by Mr. Michael Barnes on the Harpsichord, the listener is taken into the sounds of Vivaldi, Manfredini, Gabrieli, Handel and more. Fred Sautter, retired principal trumpet of the Oregon Symphony will also be playing with Mr. Reeve on double trumpet concertos and Mrs. Paula Reeve will favor the audience with her sparkling voice in various baroque arias, ranging from Handel to Bach.
Mr. Reeve is the winner of the 2013 Musikförderpreis of the Lions-Club Colonia for Baroque Trumpet. He is currently working as a baroque trumpeter and trumpeter in Europe, playing with such ensembles as the Main Barockorchester Frankfurt, the Gürzenich Orchester Köln, the Beethoven Orchester Bonn and the Trompeten Consort Friedemann Immer. He is also currently serving as Principal Trumpet of Camerata Louis Spohr, located in Dusseldorf, Germany. He has completed studies at the Hochschule für Musik, in Cologne, Germany and also the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. He is a native of Portland, OR.
