Ukiah Symphony Orchestra--"South Pacific in Concert!"
 The Ukiah Symphony Orchestra will perform Rodgers and Hammerstein's "South Pacific in Concert!" for its annual summer fundraiser at the Nelson Family Vineyards at 550 Nelson Ranch Road, Ukiah, California.  The vineyard and ranch is located off of Highway 101 between Hopland and Ukiah.  Mendo Lake Credit Union of Mendocino County and Nelson Family Vineyards are sponsoring this event.
 The gates will open at 5:30 p.m. and the concert will begin at 7:00 p.m.  Concertgoers are encouraged to carpool, as parking is limited.  Disabled parking spaces are located close to the grassy seating area which is well-shaded.  
 Please bring your blanket, low-back chair and picnic dinner, or purchase a delicious meal and beverage from Dora's Gourmet Cafe or Pagan Fire Pizza.  Mendocino Ballet will be selling desserts. Wine from Nelson Family Vineyards will be sold, and no outside alcoholic beverages are allowed on the premises.  Please leave dogs at home.  
 Tickets are $25 for adults or $30 at the door and children or students 18 and under with ASB card are $5 each.  
 The musical, "South Pacific" (lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein, II, and music by Richard Rodgers),is based on the book written by Oscar Hammerstein, II and Joshua Logan, which they adapted from the Pulitzer prize-winning novel, "Tales of the South Pacific," by author, James A. Michener.  The concert version of the musical was adapted by David Ives.
 Three soloists will be playing and singing the parts of Nellie Forbush (Roseanne Wetzel), Emile de Becque (Pedro Rodelas), and Bloody Mary (Paula Samonte) on August 2, accompanied by a community chorus and members of the Ukiah Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Music Director and Conductor, Les Pfutzenreuter.  
 This fundraiser begins the 35th anniversary of the 2014-2015 concert season of the Ukiah Symphony Orchestra. For a season brochure or information on how to become a sponsor or donator, please call (707) 462-0236.
