DamNation
DamNation uncovers how intricately the dams engineered since the industrial revolution has severely altered the landscapes, wildlife ecosystems and native populations that surround the countless river systems across America. As dam removal becomes more mainstream, rivers are bounding back to life, giving salmon and other wild fish the right of return to primeval spawning grounds, after decades without access. DamNation suggests that nothing lasts forever, including the concrete monoliths that have impounded America's free-flowing rivers in the name of "progress" for ages. (87 min, dir.
