2014-2015 SEASON LINE-UP:

THE JEWELER'S SHOP
by Karol Wojtyla
(Pope St. John Paul II)
Adapted by Ted Davis
Directed by Jeremy Stanbary
September 26 - October 26

A great proponent of the arts in addition to being an accomplished actor, poet and playwright, Karol Wojtyla (Saint Pope John Paul II) penned several plays during his life and even co-founded an underground theater in Nazi occupied Poland during World War II. "The Jeweler's Shop" is his best-known play and a true work of art that probes the depths of human love, longing, brokenness, and ultimately, hope.

This profound drama explores the mysteries and pitfalls of love in the lives of three couples: a newlywed couple, a veteran married couple whose marriage is on the rocks, and then twenty seven years later the son of the first couple and the daughter of the second, now engaged to one another. The journey of each couple is touched and influenced by the enigmatic figure of the town jeweler. This timeless poetic drama was the subject of a 1989 film starring Burt Lancaster, Ben Cross and Olivia Hussey, and made its New York debut in 1994 Off Broadway.

CHRISTMAS IN NIATIRB
by Jeremy Stanbary
Based on an essay by C.S. Lewis
December 5 - 30

An astute and humorous look at the traditions of "Exmas" and "Christmas" through the lives of the fictional inhabitants of the island of Niatirb (Britain spelled backwards).  This full-length theatrical adaptation of a little-known Christmas essay by C.S. Lewis brings out the full wit, charm, and inspiring self-examination that so characterizes his writing and creative genius.

THE POTTING SHED
by Graham Greene
Directed by Stephen O'Toole
February 13 - March 15

An unwanted son returns to his father's deathbed.  His mother will not permit him to see his father in his last moments, and he is estranged from every member of his family.  Why?  The key apparently is an event in the potting shed when he was 14 years old.  This taut, stirring psychological drama ran during the 1956 Broadway season to great acclaim and offers a thought-provoking look at the possibility of faith in a faithless world.

"Brilliantly effective, remarkably moving, enormously provocative..."  - New York Post

FREUD'S LAST SESSION
by Mark St. Germain
Directed by Jeffrey S. Miller
April 24 - May 24

In an imagined meeting between two of the 20th century's greatest minds, Sigmund Freud, suffering from terminal cancer, invites young professor C.S. Lewis to his London home for a surprising discussion.  As the two debate the most important questions of our existence in a witty, intellectual sword fight, their conversation ranges from God and morality to sex and the meaning of life.
