Members of Theatre9/12 Presents The Northwest Premier of Seminar by Theresa Rebeck
Theatre9/12 proudly presents the Northwest premiere of Theresa Rebeck'sprovocative new comedy SEMINAR, where writing becomes a contact sport.Produced on Broadway in 2011-12, this fast, funny, biting comedy is"a fevered melange of envy, insecurity and intramural sexual desire." (ChicagoTribune) In a master class four aspiring, fiercely competitive fiction writers, like "feral cats in heat," are led by an aging, international literary figure. This once celebrated novelist's unorthodox instruction confounds and challenges the gobbledygook often disguised as literary genius. Amidst the sometimes vicious repartee in this cauldron of terror, just how much will the frustratingly unsung talents endure from a jaded old pro to realize their publishing dreams.
(Strong language, mild adult themes)

Directed by Theatre 9/12 Producing Director Paul O'Connell, the cast features:

Sammantha Storycamp as Kate
Monica Finney as Izzy
Randall Brammer as Douglas
Michael LoSasso as Martin
and
Jeff Berryman as Leonard

The design team includes Chris "Scofie" Scofield (Stage Manager), John Epperson (Sound Design), Mishka Navarre-Huff (Costumes), Natalie Keller (Lighting Designer), Paul O'Connell (Set designer).

ABOUT THEATRE9/12
After the shock the world experienced on 9/11/01, every creative artist was summoned to fulfill the traditional responsibility:
To heal andlift humanity to understand this new time
To make order of perceived chaos
To reassess complacent values
To heal the past in order to embrace a progressive step forward.

At Theatre9/12, trained and working actors, both union and non-union, continue to develop their talents and skills through workshops and performances. Their efforts climax with productions presented through the Actors' Equity Association Members' Project Code. Theatre9/12 staff assists these union actors in making these projects come to life.
