Swallow-Nussbaum-Talmor Trio
Steve Swallow - Electric Bass, Ohad Talmor - Tenor Sax, Adam Nussbaum - Drums
The trio of saxophonist Ohad Talmor, bassist Steve Swallow and drummer Adam Nussbaum does not tour often, and U.S. performances are especially rare. Talented bassist and composer Steve Swallow hails from New York City. Many of his songs have been recorded by prominent jazz artists, including Bill Evans, Chick Corea, Stan Getz, Gary Burton, Art Farmer, Phil Woods, Jack DeJohnette, Steve Kuhn, Lyle Mays, Jim Hall and Pat Metheny. He has also been sampled by hip-hop group, A Tribe Called Quest. Just as Swallow, Adam Nussbaum is widely known to jazz audiences. A versatile drummer who generally plays in advanced settings, Nussbaum is considered a major asset no matter where he appears. Ohad Talmor, born in Israel and raised in Switzerland, works primarily as a composer and arranger, and more so in Europe and Brazil than in the U.S. Talmor collaborated with Swallow on L'Histoire du Clochard: The Bum's Tale, an album of Steve's tunes arranged after the style of Stravinsky's L'Histoire du Soldat. He also leads the band Newsreel and has collaborated extensively with Lee Konitz.
