Secret Spaces/Historic Places 2014
Heart of Biddeford's annual event shows historic Biddeford's seldom-seen gems from the depths of the mill lagoon to the heights of the City Hall clock tower, plus a few new downtown surprises! This year's event will for the first time feature a trip down the Saco River on Captain John's Charters, arriving at University of New England, then returning by bus to enjoy an historic tour of Biddeford Pool.
The tour of the downtown is self-paced, allowing you to choose which venues you will tour and in what order you choose. You can plan ahead by choosing your Lagoon Tour time this year. Once you arrive at each venue, tour guides (including Biddeford High School and University of New England students) will provide informative narratives.
The bus/boat tour spaces are limited and must be reserved in advance (by 2 p.m. on Friday, May 30), so purchase your tickets now. If there are still tickets available after that time, we will post it on Heart of Biddeford's website and Facebook page.
This year's tour also provides tourists the opportunity to schedule their lagoon tour time-- no more waiting in line!
All proceeds from this event fund Heart of Biddeford's operating expenses, allowing our organization to work creatively to revitalize our downtown community for the benefit of our whole community!
Thank you to our Event Sponsor, Saco Biddeford Savings, and to our event partners: University of New England, Pepperell Mill Campus, Biddeford Mills Museum, Motorland and the City of Biddeford.
