A SPECIAL EVENT FOR LOWER EAST SIDE HISTORY MONTH!

THE NEWS is a music/theater performance outdoors on the Lower East Side - a portrait of the neighborhood in ten songs based on ten news articles from 1914.

Audiences go on a walking tour, seeing scenes and dances staged in multiple locations, while hearing the score on headsets synced to the action.

Lyrics/direction by Ryan Gilliam, composed by Michael Hickey. Created in collaboration with a company of more than 25 singers, musicians, and actors, ages 12-30. More info at www.downtownart.org
