The Venue at Daystar Center presents Vocalist Sabina, with Visual Artists
Enjoy a musical conversation among Sabina and her band as they explore the possibilities of the American songbook and beyond, arranging on the fly from a solid base of top-notch musicianship, mutual trust and their own unique musical personas to create one-of-a-kind interpretations of songs you know and love. Join Sabina, bassist Marlene Rosenberg, saxophonist Melvin Butler, drummer Jeremy Cunningham, guitarist Scott Hesse (May 15) and pianist Stu Mindeman (May 17) as they present an evening of Sabina's original songs, jazz standards with a twist, and more.

**Come May 15th & 17th at 7:00pm, doors opening at 6:30pm to enjoy complimentary appetizers, and view visual art by Jeremy Towns and Jordan Raven. Tickets are $20.**

**Enter through Overflow Coffee Bar. The box office table will be to your right. See below concerning parking and public transit options.**

Sabina is a vocalist, arranger and bandleader who has always been drawn to creating experiences. For more information on Sabina, go to www.facebook.com/sabinawithalongi, www.sabinasongs.com, or contact sabina@sabinasongs.com.

Jeremy, a Chicago-based visual artist, primarily focuses on photography. The majority of his work explores topics of urbanization and solitude. Recently he has decided to delve into other mediums such as painting, drawing, and mixed media. By doing so his art has transitioned from the realism of documentary photography to the surrealism of Bokeh photography. In short, Bokeh is a style where the photograph is purposely blurred in order to create a harmonious image. With his new found affection for Bokeh art combined with a passion for shooting he has been able to use his camera to capture a world not normally seen. For more information on Jeremy, go to http://omnibusart.com/category/jeremy-towns/

Jordan studied painting at the School of the Art Institute in Chicago and was mentored by acclaimed Chicago painter Kurt Sala.  She approaches her photography with the eye of a painter.  Her Abstract series of photographs evokes the spirit of classic abstract painting.  These images were captured on her many urban explorations.  The Black Trees series was created as an extension of the Abstracts.  This series pairs one of the abstract photographs with one of her photos of Chicago's iconic winter trees to create a world of imagination.  Jordan now feels she is able to paint with her camera.  To see more of Jordan's work, visit her website www.jordanraven.com
