Patrice Webb CD Release Concert
Patrice Webb has a new CD out and we are going to be celebrating it at a very special American River Folk Society Concert at the Marshall Grange Hall in Garden Valley on Saturday April 26.  Folsom based singer songwriter Jack Jules will open the show beginning at 7:30 p.m.
Patrice is a singer songwriter whose life takes her from the back-roads of the Sierra Nevada to the hills of Northern Idaho where she lives with her husband and a family of 4 legged critters.  Her songs tell of the lives of those whose stories make up the vibrant tapestry known as "Americana", and are described as "snapshots in time told on a bed of folk, country, swing, and the blues."  She swings to the beat of 1940s western swing, lingers a bit on what might be called "barefoot gypsy jazz" then veers off into honky tonkin' country and bluegrass before resting on the sweet sounds of quiet storytelling folk.  You can learn more about Patrice and listen to her songs at www.patricewebb.com.
Patrice will be joined on stage by the Divide Country Ramblers, a super group of Georgetown Divide musicians including: Keith Little the noted bluegrass banjo player who has recorded with the greats of Nashville and is a member of David Grisman's Bluegrass Experience, the Peter Rowan Band, and his own band the LittleBand; Conrad Nelson, a noted multi-instrumentalist and 2014 inductee into the Western Swing Society; Lisa Bond-Torgerson who teaches violin, fiddles in the band Rusty Buckets and sits in with many bands including Achilles Wheel; Thom Bentley, a virtuoso on the guitar and mandolin who plays in several local bands; and vocalist Suzanne Todd.  An all-star cast for an all-star show.
Jack Jules, a 17 year old singer songwriter from El Dorado Hills will open the show with songs influenced by the likes of Bob Dylan, Woody Guthrie, The Band, Pete Seeger, Ramblin' Jack Elliot, Levon Helm, Beethoven, Mozart, Marc Scibilia, Neil Young, Ricky Nelson, Buddy Holly, Roscoe Holcomb, Liz Cotton, Cisco Houston, Jack Kerouac, Henry David Thoreau, Joan Baez, Peter, Paul, and Mary, The Kingston Trio, Christopher McCandless, Alexander Supertramp, and anyone else that has ever blown in the wind.

This is going to be a very special one of a kind concert and you don't want to miss the opportunity to hear all these fine Georgetown distinguished musicians making music together.  The Grange Hall is located at 4940 Marshall Road, in Garden Valley.  Driving directions may be found at www.marshallgrange.org.  For further information call 530-642-8671.  This is a GDRD Community Partner Event.
