Einat Admony, the chef-owner of New York City's popular Balaboosta, Bar Bolonat, and Taïm restaurants, is teaming up with Tinseltown's dining destination Mauro's Cafe at Fred Segal to test the waters for a possible west coast expansion.
Admony has been featured in The New Yorker, The New York Times, and New York Magazine, among many others, and when she is not at her restaurants or competing (and winning!) on shows like "Chopped" and "Throwdown! with Bobby Flay," she can be found at home, cooking for the crowd of family and friends continually gathered around her dining table.
Admony is a 21st-century balaboosta (Yiddish for "perfect housewife") herself. She's a wife, mother of two, and an avid home-cook and cookbook author, but also a chef busy running New York City restaurants, which includes Balaboosta, the ten-year old falafel joint Taïm, and ten-week old Bar Bolonat. Her debut cookbook features 140 of the recipes she cooks for the people she loves: her children, her husband, and the many friends she regularly entertains.
May 27th, 28th, 29th and 31st, Admony will be serving elevated, upscale versions of the same dishes that you might find on any given night at Balaboosta, such as Shrimp Kataïf with tobiko sauce and Adobo-Rubbed Skirt Steak with charred tomato, spring onions, cherry tomato vinaigrette.
While in Los Angeles, Admony will seamlessly blend her Israeli heritage with inspirations from fresh, California spring produce to make sophisticated Mediterranean plates in this three-course tasting menu, perfectly accompanied with optional wine pairings.
Admony is thrilled to cook for you at the gorgeous Mauro's Café at Fred Segal in West Hollywood. Dinner reservations can be made for Tuesday May 27th, Wednesday May 28th, Thursday May 29th, or Saturday May 31st starting at 6:00 PM with the last seating at 9:30 PM.
