Rice Village Beer Crawl
Advance paid reservations are required for all tours.

Meet your tour guide at the bar inside The Ginger Man in Rice Village.

Allow time to find parking. Although there are many areas designated for parking in Rice Village, parking lots can become crowded during peak hours. Free parking is available along the streets, in designated store parking lots, and in several area rooftop parking lots. Paid parking is available on some streets and at The Village Arcade [www.villagearcade.com/events.php].

One of the goals of the crawl is to sample several unique beers but, because of differing tastes and budgets, we do not include the cost of your beverages and food in the tour price. As a result, you can choose to order water on the rocks or a huge mug at each of our three stops. We promise not to tell which.

We also practice Beer Crawl Etiquette from the Thirsty Swagman: Pre-drinks can equal a premature night; your dignity is just one less shot away; eating is not cheating; and, most importantly, social media is everywhere.

Named after the outrageous novel by J.P. Donleavy, The Ginger Man was born in 1985 in this old house on Morningside in Rice Village. It is believed to be the first multitap specialty beer bar in the U.S. and is regarded as one of the finest beer bars in the world. It has grown to become a Texas tradition in six cities.

Weather permitting, we'll head for the outside beer garden and get to know one another with a drink and a scavenger hunt. Restrooms are available.

After an hour at the Ginger Man, we will visit two other pubs nearby in Rice Village. We will choose from the Kelvin Arms, Hans Bier Haus, Little Woodrow's, Sherlock's Baker Street Pub, and more.

At the end of the tour, we encourage you to stay in Rice Village and enjoy some yummy food. As the Thirsty Swagman says, "Eating something at the end of a beer crawl is never a bad thing. No one likes nasty hangovers and everyone loves food."
