When?Saturday, May 3, 2014, at Noon Where? The Empire Mine State Historic Park 10791 East Empire Street Grass Valley Cost? $25 per person (Price includes admission to the park, lunch, a guided tour of the Empire Mine grounds and a signed copy of Sierra Stories: Tales of Dreamers, Schemers, Bigots and Rogues a $43 value for only $25)
The celebration will include: A traditional miner's lunch at the Empire Mine Clubhouse Cornish pastie (your choice of beef, chicken or veggie), cole slaw, beverages, ice cream/cookies -- A pastie is a baked meal pie with a flaky crust Served by park volunteers in period costume A guided tour of the Empire Mine grounds 90 minute tour led by an expert tour guide Tour includes the Empire Mine Bourn Cottage (the mine owner's mansion) and the mineyard A short presentation by Joe Medeiros, Editor-in-Chief of Sierra College Press Malcolm Margolin, Publisher of Heyday Books Gary Noy, author of Sierra Stories And a signed copy of Sierra Stories Please join us for a memorable afternoon at the historic Empire Mine in Grass Valley
