Buddhist Psychology with Jack Kornfield
Join renowned clinical psychologist, meditation teacher and author Jack Kornfield for a day of teachings and mindful meditations on love, consciousness, healing and the nature of the mind.  The workshop embodies the fundamental aspects of a psychology derived from Buddhist principles.  This day-long training  combines practical examples, teaching stories, case studies and visionary wisdom. Explore practices for applying these revolutionary perspectives to work, healing, meditation and daily life. Discover inner capacities for mindfulness,  joy, dignity, confidence and compassion as you awaken to your truest nature.

Jack Kornfield has taught meditation internationally since 1974 as one of first American teachers to introduce Buddhist mindfulness practice to the West.  After graduating from Dartmouth College in Asian Studies in 1967, Jack served in the Peace Corps in northeast Thailand where he studied under the Buddhist master Ven. Ajahn Chah, as well as the Ven. Mahasi Sayadaw of Burma.  He eventually trained as a Buddhist monk at monasteries in Thailand, India and Burma.  After his return to the U.S,  Jack co-founded the Insight Meditation Society in Barre, MA, with fellow teachers Sharon Salzberg and Joseph Goldstein. He is also a founding teacher of the Spirit Rock Center in Woodacre, California, where he currently lives and teaches.

Continuing Education Units: 6 CEU's for professional counselors and social workers are available from The Catholic University of America. Sign up offered at the August 16 workshop.  Please provide a $25 check payable to NCSSS and contact your respective licensing organization in advance  to confirm these particular CEU's are allowed.
