Magnolia- A Bad-Ass Benefit in memory of Noah
The Bad-Ass Film Festival proudly remembers founding member Noah Rogers with a screening of Magnolia, one of Noah's favorite films. All proceeds to benefit Orphan Angels Cat Sanctuary. Presented in cooperation with the Film Society of Northwestern Pennsylvania and the Edinboro Film Series.

ALL PROCEEDS TO BENEFIT ORPHAN ANGELS CAT SANCTUARY

Orphan Angels is a NO-KILL, mostly cage-free shelter for cats and kittens that have been surrendered by their owners, found as strays or rescued in some way or another. Most of the cats roam around in a livingroom-style space.

Magnolia (1999) Directed by Paul Thomas Anderson 188 mins.

24 hours in L.A.; it's raining cats and dogs. Two parallel and intercut stories dramatize men about to die: both are estranged from a grown child, both want to make contact, and neither child wants anything to do with dad. Earl Partridge's son is a charismatic misogynist; Jimmy Gator's daughter is a cokehead and waif. A mild and caring nurse intercedes for Earl, reaching the son; a prayerful and upright beat cop meets the daughter, is attracted to her, and leads her toward a new calm. Meanwhile, guilt consumes Earl's young wife, while two whiz kids, one grown and a loser and the other young and pressured, face their situations. The weather, too, is quirky.(IMDB)

Starring: Julianne Moore, William H. Macy, John C. Reily, Tom Cruise, Phillip Baker Hall, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Jason Robards, and Alfred Molina.
