More Than Anything Else is Close to Nothing
As a child, Joselito Castillo had a pastime of collecting sounds and conversations often without the knowledge of his family and friends. Inspired by a tape recorder from the 1970's that he found in a basement, he captures a moment in the lives of each dancer and explores them through movement. Part diary, part history, these are honest conversations; audio snapshots of exactly where each person was at that moment in their lives. This show explores universal themes of the human experience: relationships, communication, aging, and community. It is an invitation to the dancers and the audience to share our stories, our truths and to support one another in our unique and shared experiences.
