(stepp) on (ing) in is found in exploring ways to set movement. Movement and composition are determined through a careful listening and watching. Dancer, sister, performer, friend, choreographer, individual; these roles are not enforced but become present in the reading. The audience is witness to a dance in search of its own arrival.

Sunflower: When the big earthquake hit Japan in 2011, I started to question how our society operates, and I wondered if I was being misled by the rules of the society. One person alone can't change this illogical system; as a community we must be smarter and more aware in order to facilitate change for a better, safer future.

This work embodies the struggles of female identity within the confines of patriarchal societies. Its concept references personal experiences, while being inspired by research based on feminist literature, statistics on rape and violence against women, and the male gaze that lends itself to the objectification of women.

Another study: I like to explore many different kinesthetic sensibilities; weight, momentum, gravity and time. I am deeply informed by many sensual and articulate dancers following in the post modern dance tradition. This piece has been a means to explore what has influenced my body, and has become a marker in time of an embodied history.
